Glad Amog LEMRA n’est pas connu dans le monde pour ses études de gestion et finance. C’est plutôt son parcours de réalisateur, metteur en scène, poète et auteur qui surprend agréablement les amoureux des belles lettres et ceux du monde des arts.
Vous venez du Congo-Brazzaville et vivez en France. Le monde vous connaît en tant que cinéaste. Quelles sont les étapes de votre vie qui vous ont conduit au cinéma?
Effectivement, le cinéma est l’art qui a mis la lumière sur ma personne. Mais paradoxalement, c’est la poésie qui m’a conduit au cinéma. Pour faire court le cinéma est ma poésie portée à l’image qui pour moi est la meilleure des façons de transcrire la vie, nos émotions… bref la poésie. J’écris la poésie depuis l’âge de 12 ans pour dire l’amour. Plus tard, j’ai pris conscience que la vie n’était pas que rose, il fallait donc la peindre sous toutes ses coutures.
Qu’est-ce qui nourrit votre imaginaire?
Au risque de me répéter, le cinéma, c’est ma poésie, c’est la vie que je perçois. C’est dire que mon cinéma est perpétuellement remis en question, il se fait au rythme même de la vie. A la seule différence que je prends de l’âge et donc j’essaye d’être meilleur que je ne l’étais hier dans ma façon de voir les choses puis les transcrire, techniquement et humainement. Ce qui ne change pas, je constate que la femme et l’enfant sont toujours au centre de mon imaginaire, de mes réalisations. C’est la société qui m’inspire. La transcription même de ma poésie.
Pouvez-vous nous résumer quelques-uns de vos films?
Difficile de vous les résumer, hélas! Pour tout vous dire, j’ai souvent du mal à me souvenir de ce que je fais. Je passe très vite à autre chose. Cependant je peux vous citer quelques-uns comme : $ilenc€, Mensonge légal, Qui perd gagne, La tombe d’un rêve, qui sont des courts métrages et Djoli, Identité malsaine, Entre le marteau et l’enclume, qui sont par contre, des longs métrages
Vous sentez-vous soutenu dans ce que vous faites par des amis, des sponsors, des cinéastes rencontrés dans les festivals de cinéma?
Absolument, je considère mon travail comme une composition de compétences, de partage et d’amour. Et chaque personne y joue sa participation pour porter mon imaginaire à l’écran.
Combien de temps dure le tournage d’un film et comment choisissez-vous les acteurs qui jouent dans les vôtres?
Il n’y a pas de conventions en ce qui me concerne. Cela dépend de la durée du film (court ou long) des ressources techniques, financières, humaines etc. Il faut compter 3 à 30 jours pour prendre un intervalle. Les acteurs sont choisis d’abord en fonction de la description du personnage puis un éventuel casting quand je n’ai pas déjà ma petite idée sur l’acteur.
Quelles sont les difficultés auxquelles vous faites face jusqu’à ce jour?
La plus grande difficulté, c’est la distribution et le manque d’espace de projection dans mon Congo natal ou l’État ne détient aucun espace culturel. Je suppose que c’est une question de priorité politique. C’est dommage !
Du cinéaste et du poète qui influence l’autre ?
Le cinéaste est la dérivée du poète. J’espère que le cinéaste n’en sera pas jaloux.
Des récompenses? Faites-vous partie d’une association de cinéastes?
Des récompenses oui, pas mal. Non, j’ai hélas souvent pensé qu’il n’est besoin de faire partie d’une association ou autre forme de congrégation pour partager ou recevoir des uns comme des autres. J’aime la liberté.
La poésie vous donne des ailes?
La poésie est la racine même de toute ma création artistique. À ce jour je suis auteur de: Négritudesque, La sève, L’oreiller des lamentations.
Et co-auteur des anthologies suivantes : Dis à la nuit qu’elle cache son visage et Franklin l’insoumis.
Vous avez dit plus haut que vous aviez publié Négritudesque, et on y lit de la poésie, du théâtre, des nouvelles… Un message particulier dans cet ouvrage?
L’identité même du monde est un tout. L’idée dans cet ouvrage était de donner la possibilité à l’être humain de voyager autant qu’il voudrait d’un univers à un autre, passer une frontière littéraire et intellectuelle sans visa. En somme, être libre. Il y a là un miroir de l’humanité pour l’être humain. Une humanité qui reflète l’homme, la femme, la croyance, la religion… Ce lien et l’équilibre de son rapport. Les nouvelles, pour le dire en français, qui ont été inspirées ici par les «Masapo», histoires ou récits que pouvaient nous raconter nos grands parents avaient toujours une fibre de réflexion ou éducative, quel que soit le genre, comique ou dramatique. Comme dans ma poésie ou autre, je ne sais pas donner des messages, je définis mes présentations comme peinture de l’humanité à l’humanité. À chacun(e) d’y voyager avec son oeil, son cœur et son esprit.
Un dernier mot pour une autre société?
J’espère qu’un jour l’être humain prendra conscience que l’humanité est la seule unité de valeur qu’il a et que le «nègre» prendra conscience que son salut ne viendra pas d’ailleurs mais de sa volonté de trouver sa liberté non pas dans ces chaînes brisées mais dans ses valeurs intrinsèques.
