MONIQUE NTINOU – L’inconnu ne doit pas nous faire peur
Passionnée de peinture, retraitée et heureuse de l’être, Monique Ntinou est mère de famille, grand-mère et arrière-grand-mère. Monique Ntinou a travaillé quarante-cinq ans durant dans le domaine de l’enseignement, l’éducation et l’encadrement des publics en situation de précarité. Elle a œuvré dans le monde de l’handicap et de la politique, en France. Sur le plan des études, elle a suivi un cursus normal, et ensuite en formation continue pour préparer des diplômes en sciences de l’éducation qu’elle a tous obtenus. Elle est titulaire d’un Master en Sciences de l’Education obtenu en 1989 à l’université de Paris V, René Descartes. Ses tableaux sont de merveilleux cadeaux pour le temps des fêtes qui arrive et que les parisiens peuvent trouver à la « La MNT GALERIE D’ART UNE PASSION EN COULEURS ». Elle est sur Facebook.
Vous avez travaillé au Congo Brazzaville et êtes retraitée en France : comment expliquer ce choix ?
Ce n’est pas du tout un choix que d’avoir travaillé au Congo et poursuivi mes activités professionnelles dans mon pays d’adoption, la République française où finalement j’ai fait admettre mes droits à la retraite. La vie n’est pas un long fleuve tranquille. Le cours des évènements qui ont jalonné la mienne ont imprimé un tempo particulier à mon parcours surprenant. Alors que je croyais que ma vie se déroulerait comme sur des roulettes, des grains de sable, et quelques fois des gravillons se sont infiltrés dans l’engrenage m’obligeant à m’adapter et me réadapter continuellement, tout en m’entraînant très souvent à opérer des choix cornéliens.
C’est suite à cet engrenage indépendant de votre volonté, vous aviez commencé à peindre?
J’ai commencé à peindre en 2008. Au cours de cette période, je me suis retrouvée dans une situation assez inattendue : d’un côté, un pan de ma vie privée était pris dans un engrenage vis-à-vis duquel je manquais d’armes appropriées pour l’anéantir. De l’autre, je venais d’être élue Maire adjoint dans ma commune de résidence avec des charges substantielles que je devais assumer à tout moment, sans compter que durant ce mandat politique de six ans, je poursuivais inlassablement mes fonctions de Responsable d’insertion socio-professionnelle dans une grande institution médicosociale accueillant cent soixante personnes adultes handicapées en région parisienne.
La peinture est venue comme une bouée de sauvetage ?
En effet, afin de préserver mon équilibre mental et psychologique, il m’a fallu trouver un exutoire. C’est au hasard de mes pas, en allant faire mes courses que je me suis retrouvée dans les rayons d’arts créatifs. L’envie m’est venue d’acheter une toile, des pinceaux et une palette de peinture acrylique. De retour chez moi, j’ai tout laissé en plan et me suis 
mise à réaliser une œuvre sortie tout droit de mon imagination. Au terme de ce premier gribouillage, j’ai eu le bonheur de voir surgir en image, une mère et son enfant. Tous ceux de mon entourage se sont montrés admiratifs au point que je me suis sentie boostée, et j’ai pris mon envol dans le domaine de la peinture qui est devenu incontournable à ce jour.
Quelles sont les thématiques qui marquent votre création ?
La thématique principale de mes gribouillis demeure la femme et l’enfant. Une influence certainement tirée de l’histoire de mes origines où la gent féminine est prédominante, tant en nombre qu’en entreprise. En effet, ma belle et tendre mère avait un caractère bien trempé. Une véritable mère poule qui défendait sa progéniture bec et ongles et qui a été mon modèle par excellence.
Vos couleurs sont d’une clarté éblouissante, le bleu, le rouge et autres teintes ravissent l’œil : un secret pour créer ces merveilleux mélanges ?
Je n’ai jamais pris des cours de peinture. Dans ce que je réalise, je ne suis influencée par personne, sauf mon fort instinct de femme, de mère et de battante, avec en toile de fond mon amour pour ce beau continent, l’Afrique, dont je suis issue et auquel je suis si fière d’appartenir. A travers les couleurs, les formes et les agencements, seule mon âme s’exprime. Ceux qui me connaissent un tant soit peu déclarent souvent reconnaître certaines de mes facettes à travers mes tableaux. En réalité, c’est l’âme de Monique Ntinou qui se dévoile à travers mes coups de pinceaux hasardeux ou autres matériaux utilisés car, outre l’acrylique, je ne boude point les autres matières tels que les feutres, les crayons de couleur, la gouache ou le pastel.
La femme, dans le monde de la peinture a-t-elle réellement sa place ?
Très sincèrement, je ne peux pas répondre de manière précise à cette question car je vis plus ou moins en vase clos dans ce domaine. Je n’ai quasiment aucun contact avec les femmes pratiquant d’ailleurs l’art de manier les pinceaux avec brio. Peut-être qu’un jour viendra où je prendrai conscience que je fais partie de ce corps d’artistes et que j’y ai ma place. Depuis 2008, ce que je fais, je le fais d’abord pour moi et de temps en temps, je jette un regard intéressé sur les œuvres des autres, question de curiosité.
Peut-on vivre de sa peinture ?
Vivre de sa peinture ? Je l’ignore puisqu’en ce qui me concerne je ne le fais pas pour gagner de l’argent, et je n’ai jamais envisagé en faire un gagne-pain bien que les besoins soient là. En peignant, c’est le plaisir qui prime. D’ailleurs, la plupart du temps, je fais don de mes tableaux à la famille, aux amis, à mes proches à l’occasion des évènements de la vie tels que les mariages, les anniversaires, etc… Et lorsque j’ai l’occasion d’exposer, mes œuvres sont acquises à un coût défiant toute concurrence, l’essentiel étant de rentrer dans les frais engagés dans l’achat de la matière première.
Que représente donc une exposition pour vous ?
Je fais des expositions certes, mais c’est surtout pour montrer mon travail et recevoir des avis. Les critiques sont toujours les bienvenus pour me permettre de persévérer. J’ai mis en place un livre d’or qui recueille tout cela. L’essentiel pour moi reste le ressenti des gens
qui se déplacent pour me faire l’honneur de venir voir ce que je fais. Leurs encouragements et leur admiration flattent mon égo, je dois bien sûr l’avouer. Et c’est tout à fait légitime car je consacre énormément de temps à mes gribouillis.
Quel regard porte votre famille et le monde sur vos toiles ?
Lorsque je parcours mon livre d’or, j’y vois plus du positif et quasiment rien de négatif. Depuis 2008, je sens aujourd’hui que j’ai évolué dans mon art de m’amuser avec cette passion en couleurs. Je constate également que beaucoup de mes tableaux décorent les intérieurs de certains bureaux, habitations, écoles et j’en passe. La plupart des gens de mon entourage apprécie ce que je fais et m’encourage à persévérer. Personnellement, cette activité me procure tellement de bonheur que je n’envisage pas un seul instant de l’interrompre. Une douce échappatoire face à ce monde troublé.
Un dernier mot ?
Encourager les femmes à se lancer dans une activité de loisir. Ne pas hésiter de fonctionner au gré de ses envies. S’éclater avec certaines opportunités qu’on peut trouver plaisantes au fil de nos rencontres. Il y a un début à tout. Et il n’est jamais trop tard pour entreprendre quelque chose de nouveau. L’inconnu ne doit pas nous faire peur. Chacun de nous a un talent caché qui peut éclore au gré des circonstances. Mon témoignage en dit long à ce sujet. Je suis présente sur Facebook.
